Statement
of Expectations for Active Members of the Board of Trustees of Folknet

| The
following responsibilities are specific to Folknet and are articulated
for the purpose of complementing or clarifying certain aspects of the
traditional governing responsibilities of board members. |
- Commit to the
mission and goals of Folknet.
- Maintain a
paid-up membership in Folknet.
- Attend
meetings: Full board meetings of the Board of Trustees are scheduled
twice a year, and board members are expected to attend all meetings.
Board members are also encouraged to attend all meetings of the
committees on which they serve.
- Contribute
expertise and participate in strategic development of the board and of
Folknet.
- Attend
special events: Board members are encouraged to participate by
attending general meetings, concerts, festivals, and other special
events throughout the year.
- Make
a personal contribution to Folknet: Every member of the board is
expected to make some financial contribution and/or in-kind
contributions of time and resources.
- Develop
funding support: Assist Folknet in its membership development and fund
raising efforts by arranging introductions, signing letters to friends
and associates, and otherwise opening doors to funding sources.
- Represent
Folknet: Be familiar with and speak in support of Folknet and allow
one's name to be used in support of Folknet's mission.
- Disclose any
potential conflict of interest with Folknet.

as a member of the Board of Trustees of Folknet,
I will be held accountable to the above expectations on an annual basis.
